Remember the good old days of sipping coffee and listening to live music in Backstage of the La Salle Union Building or the E & F Lounge.
Let's relive those glory days! Join fellow alumni in a new initiative of the Alumni Association, Virtual Alumni Coffee House.
Every other Thursday, we will have live performances where singers, songwriters, and playwrights can perform in a 30-minute time slot.
As part 11 of the series, we are delighted to have the following alumni perform:
Shawn Nolan, '85
Shawn Nolan, who grew up in Philadelphia, is a 1985 La Salle grad. During his time at La Salle, Shawn often played the St. Francis coffee houses. Over the years he has performed in a number of different musical groups including The Nolan Brothers, Rich Kids, Meg’s Nightmare, and, more recently, Shawn and the Megs. These days, Shawn can be found performing frequently at the Mermaid Inn in Chestnut Hill, and at various fundraising events. Professionally, Shawn is a lawyer and is the Chief of the Capital Habeas Unit in the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern district of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, one of the largest capital post-conviction offices in the country. He has been a public defender for thirty-one years, since his graduation from Temple University School of Law in 1989. Shawn has also lectured nationally and locally on the death penalty and Guantanamo-related litigation, and frequently teaches Brother Gerry's class, Film and the Law.
John Dougherty, '82
John was a member of Sigma Phi Lambda, The Masque, and served as an RA while at La Salle. He is presently an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Haverford College.
